God Pretty Please

For the first module of my Master’s, we were each assigned a shape to explore — mine was the square.

In weeks 2 and 3, our task was to create a physical or digital zine that connected to our shape and incorporated something currently inspiring us. For me, that inspiration is Christianity.

I chose to investigate the different ways the square is interpreted in art, mathematics, psychology, and more. I paired each focus with relevant biblical references and reflections on how the concept connects to Christianity. The result is an 8-page zine (including front and back covers), with each page offering a unique perspective.

  • Pages 1–2: Structure & Stability / Elements

  • Pages 3–4: Mathematics / Community

  • Pages 5–6: Art / Psychological Confinement & the Mind

  • Pages 7–8: Media / Freedom
